Using USB firmware to give two USB ports?

Using the usb2 firmware is it possible to have two different USB devices connected, one to the phones port, and one to one of the MDK ports?

Thanks,

James

Unfortunately, no.  You can charge from the TypeC on the MotoZ, but you cannot have simultaneous data with Mod USB.

Due to this and power concerns, it is critical to disable Mod USB when not in use.

Is it possible to have two usb devices connected to each of the ports on the MDK ? The Type C port on the moto Z will to be used only for charging.

With the MDK you can use USB#2 (Type C) for powering your prototype, B4 should be OFF (and probably B3 unless you have battery/charging on your prototype).

Then you'd set A3=ON, A4=OFF to bring data to the USB#3 (MicroUSB) port.  With the usb2 firmware, the microUSB port is always powered.  That said, the usb2 sample firmware was started from base_unpowered and does not contain Battery/PTP so it will not push/pull power from the MotoZ.

In your actual Moto Mod product, if you need multiple USB devices then you would place a hub in your Mod.
