Being organized, staying connected and being productive 24/7 can be quite handy and became indisposable in our daily lives...at least until your battery dies.

Making use of nowadays newest innovations, like smartphones or tablets, is convenient and brings more availability to all of us. Considering the heavy usage of our devices this won´t get any better in the future, unless you want to carry around a charger all the time.

Think of a way of charging wherever you are by just simply placing your gadget on a surface. Save your battery´s life throughout the day in your car, at your local bar or at a public event.

Würth Elektronik has joined the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) to contribute to a technology focusing on making charging easier and more convenient for everyone. With its Qi standard (pronounced chee) there is a way of keeping your smartphone running when you need it, especially outside your home.

The Qi Standard inspires innovation by product interoperability creating a universal standard to power electronic devices abroad a broad range of brands. The basic principle of an inductively coupled power transfer system consists of a transmitter coil and a receiver coil. Both coils form a system of magnetically coupled inductors. An alternating current in the transmitter coil generates a magnetic field which induces a voltage in the receiver coil. This voltage can be used to power a mobile device or charge a battery.

Having wireless power around, warnings of low battery will share a rare appearance on your device, expanding the advantages of modern technology to a width being finally up-to-date for its age.
