Cambridge Raspberry Jam -May 14

Problemchild
Problemchild
23 May 2014

Once again travelled the 240 odd miles for the Cambridge Jam. They had a slight change of format this time so I took only one video in the main hall, rest of the time we were fortunate enough to get Myself and a Nephew into 2 organised tutorials one using the Raspberry Pi  Camera in Python and Command line  another was interfacing basic peripherals to the Pi such as temperature, PIR sensors, lights buzzers and the such.

PI-CAM actually Keeps Nephew awake and alert!

Robot kits every where some of which are British apparently image

Using PiTroll to look in to the Stars!

I managed to get in to Matt the Pi Guy's talk on how to engage children into learning computing and how this is positive both for the Students and the Teachers who then enjoy teaching motivated children... Very lucid argument from a 14 year old!!

Here we go:

Thanks RPi Troll was a control pendant thing fro the RPI.

Yes I would of course like to have centre stage from a filming view but often that's where the event cameras are. Also I don't think it's fair  to spook people with gear shoved in front of them, they are more natural and also the view is more like you would really get just off centre ... And yes it means I can bug out for the boring bits image

WE ARE THE ROAD CREW !!

    Hi John,

Always like your trip reports! What's a pi troll? Google didn't find it.

I watched a bit of the video, will watch it in more detail in the morning - it is interesting for two reasons,

not just the content, but also seeing where you sit - I like your style, sitting on the side, nowhere near the front : ) so you can make an exit if the situation gets

boring, or if the ceiling caves in.
