Delivery update - 27th April

27 Apr 2012

Hi Everyone,

We’re excited to report that our next shipment of 4,000 Raspberry Pi’s has now left our manufacturers in Asia and will be on their way to customers next week! We have a further 12,000 Raspberry Pi’s due to arrive by the third week of May. We will have regular volume shipments thereafter. By early next week, all 110,000 customers who have ordered with element14 - wherever you are in the world - will receive a confirmed delivery date. As previously communicated, this will be no later than the end of June for those who ordered before April 18th.

Over the next 5 days, we will invite the 70,000 hopeful customers who have already registered to place their orders.  If you place an order with us, you will have a delivery date in July or August, depending on your place in the ordering queue.

New registrations of interest received from today will need to wait a little longer for their confirmation until we have updated production and delivery information from our manufacturers. We are doing this because we want to avoid any further confusion and to make sure we give any new customers accurate delivery information when you place your order.

Thank you again for your patience – with volume manufacture now underway we hope that we will shortly be able to lift the “one per customer” order limitation on any new orders.  We will let you know as soon as we are able to do so.

Don’t forget that we have some great resources to help you get started with your Raspberry Pi. Be sure to check out our Getting Started manual, a blog on Raspberry Pi WiFi adapter testing, suggestions on possible Raspberry Pi peripherals, and our Raspberry Pi Safety Data Sheet.

Best wishes,

Jenny and the element14team

No confirmed delivery date from element14.co.in or any response to the mails sent to the sales team. I have to call them every time to check the status of my order which I had placed on the very first…

Hello Jenny, The shipping delivery update regarding those who placed their order before April 18th is beginning to lose credibility with me. When I check my order history, I still see a delivery date of…

I ordered on March 1st and still don't have an updated shipping date... it's well beyond "early next week." When can we expect an update? Currently my shipping date is listed as August 15th.

I logged in and checked my delivery date a week ago and it finally changed to May 29th. Imagine my surprise when I checked again today and it's been changed to June 18th! If it doesn't ship then I'm canceling the order; what a disaster.

I normally have trouble waiting for anything. Waiting five to seven business days for a delivery of parts from a distributor makes me crazy. What is going on here with the Pi is causing me real grief. This site should have a place customers can go to look up their expected delivery date. Waiting for an update email that may or may not ever arrive is VERY unsatisfying.

I suppose if we all started calling them every day asking about our delivery date, they would figure out pretty quickly that an automated systemm is preferable.

I wish they had at least created a virtual Pi so we could begin development.

Yep.. I registered my interest to order something like the second day they started doing that.. Haven't heard another word from them. Makes me wish they had turned the supply and distribution over to someone like Amazon.. someone that knows what they're doing on the logistics side of the issue.

Based on Moore's Law.. by the time I get a chance to actually order a Pi, there will be quarter-sized computers out there.. dang!
