My thought to use this device came from a project that I have been working on a Birdhouse that contains as Raspberry Pi + NoIR PiCAM + IR LED light Ring. The birdhouse is about 200 feet back from my house.
I run an extension cord back to the setup and use a WiFi dongle to get my internet connection. I use a 4 inch 5 DdBi Screw-On Swivel Rubber Antenna. worked well for a good time. The issue is it is slow for streaming video or downloading pictures for viewing. So I thought that I would try and convert to a LAN connection. But I do not want to run a LAN cable along with an extension cable. I do not feel Power over Ethernet is a good way to go, because I feel a CAT5 cable is not as robust as an extension cord.
