Fix Raspberry Pi Webcam Freezing Lagging Jittering issue

#Open Terminal

Press Ctrl + Alt + t on your keyboard

#install PCI utilities

sudo apt-get install pciutils

#run on every boot

sudo nano /etc/rc.local

#add the command before exit 0

sudo setpci -s 01:00.0 0xD4.B=0x41

#reboot

sudo reboot

Thank you SO much for this! I don't know why this solution was so hard to find but it was. I have an old Logitech webcam (C910) which was blowing my Pi up any time it was engaged and nothing that I tried…

Great tip.
Can you indicate the context of this fix in terms of what Pi (s) it applies to? I assume it is related to Pi4's but does the memory size matter?

Yes so far I have only seen it on my pi 4 since all my pi's are with my students I haven't had a chance to further test so hopefully by next we I can get a better grasp of its use if just for 4 or others. Not too sure if the size matters as of yet either will have to get back on that one.

I'm running a computer camp this summer and would like to use Pi 4's. Unfortunately I'm just seeing to many teething problems, similar to your work around addresses. I'm lending toward Pi3B+ for this summer and maybe in another year Pi4.s.

I am doing a 5 week course on pi 3's seems to be more stable and since I am on week 5 this coming week I am glad I went the route since all the little things with the pi 4 have been coming up its better to use the 3s for initial teachings in my books. plus hdmi cables are cheaper lol
