Lookin 4 printer ex-pert!

I was able to pick up a Verifone 3750 cheap!  Now my thought was to use USB connect to get to low lever printing.  At the binary level I could send code to it to print for debugging  Or locate a printer driver and go with a straight up thermal printer.  Trying first with my PC and then the PI

    Hello.

Maybe I am. The point is to know what is the printer protocol. I suppose (as Zebra and many others) as suggested by phoenixcomm ESC/POS or some custom protocol derived from it.

From where you should print ? I have developed drivers for this protocol on Android, Linux and on Windows there are a couple of tricks.

Always agreeing with Cris, why don't use a small thermal ESC/POS printer (chinese makes them very reliable) ? In the meantime take a look to this old post and let me know if this is something helpful then I think I can help you with some more details: Meditech phase 0 - Annex III: The bluetooth printing protocol

Remember that the important thing is that you see what is the printing protocol of this device or try it with a couple of tricks to see what it is.

    Enrico

Good luck You are going to have to hack the printer it would be most likely be a nightmare you will need to get inside the thing.. I just looked at the product manual The RS232 is for a customer keyboard it has limited use. why didnt you just get a printer?

Do you want to use it in a store? I have 2 VeriFone printers, and they are more of a PIA than they're worth. I put them back in the box and I will sell them.. Personally, I use several printers: Brother QL-700 for tags, Zebra/Fedex/UPS label printer I also have a hp Office Laser (all.in.one) and my hp 7520 color printer which is on the network but used one a month?

Now If you, after all, this are still wanting to try.

Get out your tools and open it up.. HACK IT.

It looks like the Verifone comes with many interfaces built-in.

The RS-232 interface appears to be able to perform diagnostics - probably able to print whatever you like if you know the protocol. To experiment with it you might just need a USB-to-RS232 adapter module and an appropriate connector.
