My Raspberry Pi Camera Board Photography Competition Entry

This is a self portrait of my Raspberry Pi Camera Board for which I laser-cut a chassis that allows me to attach

my set of Lensbaby accessories - wide-angle & tele lens or like in this example a macro lens. It also has a

mounting screw at the bottom so I can attach the camera to my gorilla pod.

As you can see I had to use my iPad as a "mirror" so the pi cam could shoot itself - and in the background you get

some nice feedback effect from the raspistill preview on the desktop. I guess this fits best in the category

"Raspberry Pi Project"

sounds like a good solution.. did you make a cutout in the front for the led and resistor too ?

I am sandwiching the camera PCB between two small MDF boards - the front one has an 8mmx8mm cutout so it fits the sensor+lens, the back one has the four 1mm lased holes into which I screw 4 small ovalhead screws (I think they are 2mm) that I found in my scrap box. I do not have any issues with the screws making contact with the PCB. But one thing that happened is that the litte beige connector which goes from the sensor the pcd got loose - maybe I might have bent the PCB a bit whilst fasteing it. So when it did not work after the assembly I already feared that I had fried the chip - luckily after pressing the connector back it works fine.

how did you mount the camera board in your chassis ?   I'm looking for ideas as the 2mm screw holes are a pain and there's components close enough to make me uncomfortable using metal screws anyway.
