My Raspberry Pi Camera Board Photography Competition Entry

This is a self portrait of my Raspberry Pi Camera Board for which I laser-cut a chassis that allows me to attach

my set of Lensbaby accessories - wide-angle & tele lens or like in this example a macro lens. It also has a

mounting screw at the bottom so I can attach the camera to my gorilla pod.

As you can see I had to use my iPad as a "mirror" so the pi cam could shoot itself - and in the background you get

some nice feedback effect from the raspistill preview on the desktop. I guess this fits best in the category

"Raspberry Pi Project"

The laser schematics can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:92105

No the front layer is loose and gets only held in place by the side panels- here you can see the fasteners at the sides: http://www.flickr.com/photos/quasimondo/8758398085/in/photostream/

right... makes sense now.  I've been thinking of screws all the way through the front piece, the camera and the back piece.

In my case the heads of the screws also work as spacers (and on the backside I have left out a space for the connector) so my PCB is sitting flat. I will publish my laser files on thingyverse soon so people don't have to reinvent the wheel.

you can turn the led off with an entry in config.txt, disable_camera_led=1  http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=44122

but I was mainly thinking of ensuring the board sits flat rather than pressure against the led/resistor twisting the board and making the lens slightly offline

No I cover the LED on purpose since I fear that the glass lenses and filters (which are quite big since they are for a different kind of camera) would reflect the led light back into the camera. Why would you leave a hole for the resistor? Heat?
