Raspberry 2.8 TFT issue

Hy guys,

I'm new around here and i got myself in a bit of an issue.

On my Raspberry Pi i installed Raspbian and all the configurations for an Adafruit 2.8 inch TFT display. As you see in the picture below, in the left side of the screen i got a rectangular-shape zone which i don't want it to be there(first picture).

Also i would like my pi, when i open for example preferences menu, the whole window to be fitted to the screen(not to scrool sideways to reach the X button to close it). You can see in picture 2.

Thank you very much.imageimage

Actually i found and uploaded an image of Raspbian with the graphics drivers already configured (from Adafruit site) and that area of the screen works now.

I'm trying to build out and interface for raspbian for an oscilloscope.

    Best regards,

    Mihai Arald.

If you look at Adafruit product page you will see that all the images have that left side blank. It is possible that the actual display does not start till there. A close look at the display when off should show a difference in the colour of the display if this is so. if not then as max stated, the config.txt file is where you can tweak the settings

Re the resolution. You have to remember you only have 320x240 dots for the entire screen, your not going to be able to avoid the need for scrolling of the display with the standard desktop, if you want that you will need to use a display with closer to 800x600 or more

you could try reducing the font and adapting the config.txt or other config files to reduce the resolution of the screen to match your display but I doubt you will be happy with the result.

If you are planning on using this for a specific app your writing then you can code for the correct resolution ?

Sorry, no real answers here but I hope it helps you understand why you have the problem and perhaps reset your expectations

You may have somehow gotten an incorrect video option in your "config.txt" file.

    The options are explained here:
