THE LITTLE credit card sized computer, innovated in Great Britain continued to take the world by storm in 2013 and just recently Eben Upton announced the sale of the 2 millionth pi!
We've seen so many great projects and milestones for the Pi this year and with a whole glut of awesome accessories and add-ons, the Raspberry Pi ecosystem gets richer all the time. Some of great products of 2013 include PiFace Control and DisplayPiFace Control and Display, chipKIT PichipKIT Pi, Embedded PEmbedded Pi and recently the much talked about Gertduino.Gertduino.
So here's just some of the element14 team's top moment and highlights of the last year for Raspberry PiRaspberry Pi and bring on 2014!
1. A double win for Dave Akerman.
WIN: sends his Pi to infinity and beyond. WIN: takes the prize in our Raspberry Pi Photo competition in the process!
2. The Rapiro Robot Kickstarter gets funded!

3. Google donates 15,000 Raspberry Pi to UK school kids!
Seriously Google, that rules. The foundation agree, we agree, everyone agrees! MASSIVE hat tip!
4. Kano Becomes a Superstar!
Another Kickstarter success as the Kano Raspberry Pi kit completely smashes it's Kickstarter target and looks set to become a huge product in its own right. The tech press seem to agree too.
5. The 1 millionth Pi produced For element14 rolled off the production line
OK, I did mention earlier that there were now 2 million Pi's, but we still did a happy dance when the millionth rolled off our production line! Watch a video here on how they are made!
6. Raspberry Pi has a TV cameo

7. THE ACTUAL SKYNET CREATED WITH RASPBERRY PI!
Ok not quite, but this 33 node Beowulf cluster created by Boise state University was and is a thing of beauty.
8. Of the top 50 top Raspberry Pi Kickstarters, 36 have been Funded!
From the PiCade to the Brick Pi, crowdfunding has helped some projects from idea into reality. Why not head over and support some of the other cool ones still in development!
9. Celebrity Owners
She's gonna ruin you, code. Azealia Banks: Fashion Icon, Singer, Celebrity and now, Raspberry Pi owner. Actually , she was a bit baffled as to what to do with it so if you feel like helping her out, then why not go to her Instagram page with some tips?
10. Ben Heck builds a portable Raspberry Pi Games Console
Not content with the BBC Micro build from 2012, our very own Benjamin J Heckendorn put his skills into making (in my opinion) one of the best Pi Projects to date and proving once and for all that he is the MODFATHER! Watch both episodes of the build HERE and HERE.
