We've begun shipping the GertBoard Kits this week. In case you missed it, we've got some videos to help you get started: an interview with Gert Van Loo, how to assemble your GertBoard, through hole soldering tips and GertBoard FAQs. You will receive an email notification confirming the dispatch of your GertBoard Kit. Once dispactched, it will take approximately 10-14 days to arrive. Variations depend based on national holidays in your country.

If I try and order one now - less than a month later - the response is 'product obsolete'

How can the Gertboard be 'obsolete' already?
In the last month I have bought 3 Raspberry Pi's and one of the main points of interest was the expandability offered by the Gertboard, there are still adverts and video's of these on this site!
How can a product be 'obsolete' in such a short space of time?, also where is the alternative BEFORE you deem it obsolete?
If you have something newer, revised or alternative - why is it not mentioned?
I am sure a great many purchasers of the Pi bought it with interfacing with the outside world in mind - now this has been taken away - where do we go now?

The how to assemble your GertBoard link doesn't seem to work, it just directs to the "Advice on getting ready to assemble your own Gertboard Kit" I would expect to it to link to the Assembly Manual - www.farnell.com/datasheets/1642649.pdf ?

I tried ordering mine today. My order was cancelled saying that the part is going to be removed from the website
