    I already have a Raspberry Pi Zero; I tried desktop on it, but Zero doesn't have processing power, which is why I need a Raspberry Pi 5.

    I would probably set this up as a server to receive weather information, and display it on a smart mirror. It would get weather info from the home built station in my backyard.

    I have been able to work with various Raspberry Pi versions and have enjoyed the portability, especially when applying it to security projects and software such as Kali.  I would like to test an RPi 5 with Kali and see how well it works now with the improvements that we have been reading about.  https://www.kali.org/  the downside is since the RPi5 is so new there is not yet a release for it, but that is also one of the fun things of working with a new piece of hardware.

    I have an old Kano Raspberry Pi Tablet platform that I would like to swap out the old RPi 3 with the new RPi 5 and create a portable Kali workstation.  https://kano.tech/us/store/products/computer-kit-touch 

    Depending on the success of the Kano project, I would also be interested in testing in my Crowpi2 with the upgraded RPi5. https://www.crowpi.cc/products/crowpi2-all-in-one-raspberry-pi-laptop-stem-learning-platform 

    Previously I have been using the RPi400 as my primary platform for working with Kali but with this new version 5 I can upgrade previous frameworks to take advantage of the improvements and bring back the true portability that those frameworks provide.

    I expect that the RPi5 will be quite an item of interest for the CyberSecurity makers and would love to be part of Element 14 sharing the experience and testing.

    I bought one of the original Raspberry Pi boards when they were first released and installed it in my 1988 MR2 Supercharger as the front end of a custom vehicle diagnostics system (the car is pre-OBDII diagnostics). A big drawback was the lack of a power control system on the Raspberry Pi. If I win the competition I would upgrade the system and add cellular connectivity, GPS, audio streaming and some AI features. Not exactly a self-driving car (yet!), but a cool modern classic given a cyber edge. Here's hoping, fingers crossed...

    gnuradio runs fine on Pi4, for Pi5 I expect broader input bandwidth can be used.

    An SDR (Software defined radio) receiver. There was a nice and simple design called BBRF103, catching the data stream of a very fast ADC with GPIO on an FX3 Cypress MCU. It’s time to show how high the Pi5 GOIO can go, and directly interface an LTC2217 to the GPIO, and run gnuradio on the Pi.
