Winners of the Raspberry Pi Football Giveaway!

Stuartsjones
Stuartsjones
25 Jun 2014

Thanks for all your absolutely brilliant entries into the Raspberry P Raspberry Pi football competition (yes, Americans... it's a FOOTBALL). All the submissions we received were so good and you guys really have your creative juices flowing this summer! However, we only have 10 balls to give away this time and below are the projects judged by element14 staff to be the most creative and interesting. So enough waffling. Here are the winners!

Ragnar Jensen for this portable outside broadcasting box built for work in radio. Be sure to check out his video too!

zacharyigielman who is 14 and from London. Zachary submitted loads of different projects he's working on including a light chasing robot, a year long time lapse experiment and many more.

garettmlane is making a combat robot called 'Warp Drive' and gave a detailed account of the project here.

lunabomber has build a working Star Trek Tricorder.... I repeat, a WORKING STAR TREK TRICORDER. Nuff said!

welshwizard is building a self driving car, using a child's electric Lamborghini. Ideal for inter-room cat/child/pizza transport.

mwinters is in the middle of creating a wireless sensor network for his house using the Pi. He details the build here.

justiciero24 has made a rover explorer robot using the Pi, Pi cameraPi camera and a Wi-Fi dongleWi-Fi dongle. His submission also features a video of the robot in action.

Fred27 is having an NFC tag implanted IN HIS HAND! This Pi enabled build will enable him to open his front door... well, with his hand. image

fvan Has had it with getting out of bed for a train, only to find out it is late. So he's creating a device that will factor in any delays before waking him from his beauty sleep. He's also blogging about this in detail on element14.

peteroakes Our final winner is working on master controller for automating his house with the Raspberry Pi as a gateway to the internet. This then talks to ArduinoArduino controllers around the house.

Chaps, you are ALL winners! Winners of one of these faux leather Raspberry Pi footballs and we will contact you by private message shortly to arrange delivery of your prize.

Thanks again to EVERYONE who entered this competition and keep an eye out this summer for more giveaways on element14! Come on Germany! image

Thanks! My son will be very excited about a football covered in raspberries. I'm already evaluating RFID readers for this project. Once the tag is implanted many seem to require it to be right against…

I feel like I have been ignored, listed as a winner and then nothing??? Whats the go?? Is it because I am in New Zealand, too far to send the ball?
