Hello,
I would love it if you took a moment to check out my GoFundMe campaign:
Your support would mean a lot to me. Thank you so much!

$2000 dollars for a pc. That's a bit steep!
I set that as an absolute max. If I get it, great! If I don't I will work with what I get. I know it is quite a bit, however I was planning on a nice PC. I would be very grateful for 1000.
I mean no disrespect to you Conner but that site looks like a virtual "Pan Handling" site and as such completely turns me off

I don't know your situation or employment state or your ability to get employment which is why my comment is not aimed at you but the site that facilitates this, I am assuming they also take a percentage ??
Well I guess by definition you're technically not wrong. I am asking for money. I'm in highschool right now. A friend and I are trying to raise a little money for the project because we both are interested in both computers and engineering. Our school doesn't have a class which incorporates building computers so we took it upon our selves to pursue our interests. If you haven't figured out, we're a little short on money so we figured why not start a little fundraising.
The site does take a small part is the money raised. Only like 2-5% I cannot remember for sure. It is because they are the domain for the fundraising. Personally I think the founder of genius. Probably making some great money as we speak.
Usually the value of desktop PCs drops loads, I would probably have trouble giving away a machine here, even though it may be usable but old.
Another option is a Pi 3 - by some accounts it is usable as a desktop machine although it is not a compete replacement. By the way computers are changing, and the majority of computers out there in the world are no longer desktop machines, but instead are microcontrollers running machines. Soon they will be communicating to each other and doing more. That would be an area to investigate if you're interested.
Do you have other suggestions as where I post it? I have been apart of the element14 community for quite some time now and thought it wouldn't be too out of the ordinary.
I'll have to look into that idea. I do like the sound of it. I have heard of raspberry pi but never to use it in a desktop.
The gofundme requests I have seen have been more humanitarian like a car accident leaves someone with hospital bills that cannot be paid. But not like I want a Ferrari and cannot make enough. When I wanted a 10 speed bicycle, my parents had a suggestion. "go get a job". I see you like fishing. Have you considered something along a guide? Use your abilities and I bet you can come up with more(better) ideas and have fun too.

Agreed I have 12 or so 3GHZ PCs which all work with an OS and when some one said yeah I need a PC for this then I said you can have one ...Do they want it nah ... they seem to want to rather moan about not getting a new one rather than taking and using the one that is offerered for NIx ... nI think many have "uses" or "projects" for such kit then when the opotunity rises to do the prommised thing they realise the start of their side ofthe bargain starts
