Raspberry Pi and Cloud connectivity?

Having an ultra-portable computer means one will travel with it. Without doubt, it will be lost. It would be a shame to lose any personal data with it.

 

Since it is Linux based, an easy cloud setup should follow?

 

 

Simplest way to get wireless connectivity would be an adapter from the LAN or USB ports (Model B). It is the cloud part I question.

 

Can anyone enlighten me on some options?

  • It would not be hard to have wireless internet, all you need is a USB Mobile broadband dongle that is compatible with Linux and hopefully it will work with the raspberry pi as there has been none tested on the raspberry pi none can promise that this would work I would recommend option two . Option two: if you have a smart phone you can probably tether devices to it so that you can use the mobiles network connectivity ether over USB or WIFI, you can use this same method but substitute the phone for a WIFI mobile modem. To get WIFI on raspberry pi you will need a WiFi USB dongle compatible with Linux and the raspberry pi, thankfully there is some documentation for this on the raspberry pi wiki.
