Touchscreen interfacing?

Cabe raised the idea of porting WebOS to the RPi:

While I'm more interested in Android, for either, I think way to interface a touchscreen would be needed.  I see that there is a DSI display connector shown on the diagram:

I'm not familiar with that interface, so I'll have to look into it.  I'm hoping that would allow for a touchscreen to be connected.  Anyone else know more about the DSI interface?

  • WebOS or Android; it is inevitable that a mobile OS will hit the Raspberry Pi.

     

    I have only used a DSI for simple displays like 7-seg and character LCDs.

     

    I think a more fully featured touchscreen might work best via USB.

     

    Personally, I would just want to use a touchscreen, or touchpad, as a input device.

     

    Unfortunately, it sold out before I bought one. Looks like all my projects with the board will meet the back-burner.
