I am here. Now what do I click to order?
I've gone to newark.com and all I get is a round robin of links that lead here:
http://downloads.element14.com/raspberryPi2.html?isRedirect=true
There is no live page on newark.com to order this device.
I can only assume they're flat out of stock and that they'll have more in a month. Or two...

You are now chatting with 'Newark'
Newark: hello how can i help
Me: Looking for Raspberry Pi order page.
Me: Got a link?
Newark: Hi...just use 83T1943 in the search bar
Me: That works. Any reason it's not visible from the search function other than by using that number?
Me: Thank you, but the way...
Newark: hmm didn't realize that was an issue...I will alert someone
Newark: you're very welcome
Me: It says 'Further stock expected to ship May 11, 2012' So -- it's not in stock?
Me: No image of it on the page either.
Newark: they are on backorder.....we had 2000 orders for it just yesterday
Me: Ack!
Me: So I can't order it now, right?
Newark: I can send you data on it
Newark: you have an email?
Newark: yes you can pre-order
Me: I'd rather wait until it's out I think. I'd better concentrate on other things if it's not going to be available until May.
Me: Anyway, thanks Newark. [greenman] out.
Hi greenman!
Stock from the Raspberry Pi of the initial production quantity were limited and have already sold out. If you'd like to make sure you're aware when we can begin accepting orders again you can register your interest and we'll keep you updated with the latest on availability.
In the meantime, we hope you have fun hanging out here in the Community with all of your fellow Raspberry Pi group members! Let us know if you have any other questions!
Take care and thanks for joining!
Nicole, element14 Community Manager
Thanks Nicole.
Done!
Nicole, you and all the other element 14 admins are doing a wonderful job dealing with the crazed hoards that have descended on your board here, and the Newark folks are obviously going above and beyond, too, so thank you all. A few questions I've got - if I as a buyer have an accepted online order currently in the Newark system, does that mean I have a claim on one of the original 10,000 units that are someplace between China and the UK right now? Or did you sell the US allotment of Rpis and then take some additional quantity of "preorders" for the next batch to be manufactured before stopping preorders and then just taking email addresses? And if the latter is the case, how many people are in the "preordered for next manufacturing batch" group?
I know this has been a crazy time for all of us and I am just curious as to just how big this whole thing really is, at least on the US / Newark side. I am patient and am content to wait as you work thru chewing up this huge bite of Pi you've taken....good luck!
