RaspberryPi.org gone quiet - any news?

It's clear that this is way beyond there abilities. No offense but they are clearly better hardware designers

than CEO's. There were so many mistakes made it makes me worry they are not up to the task long term. And

the errors continue. I'm a BIG pi fan but you have to call a spade a spade. They mucked it up and they are still

mucking it up. The longer the silence and lack of communication goes on the worse it's going to be when the

forum goes live. I suspect they want to let the anger die down but I can tell you it's only going to grow. You have

to face the music and answer to the masses, just get it over with.

And to the people saying it's because the server is going to get hammered I say that's a total crock, they can cheaply purhase

gb' s of bandwith and many servers for very little cash. If cash is that tight then there is a whole new set of problems. If they

don't know they can do that then that's another set of problems. All in all this has been very disconcerting as a pi fan.

Sorry I don't agree with pi_guy above.

The reality is no-one physically has one from the initial shipment, and considering the bitching, moaning and general grizzling I saw on the forums BEFORE the launch date, I can only imagine the sort of things that would be said to them at the moment.

Be grateful they have produced something to serve the community, rather than something to line their own pockets, like some other tech firms.

If anyone thinks they can do better, go out do the hard yards and produce something.

Otherwise take a step back, take the chill pill and wait.

I doubt the future is as bleak as Paul T would have us believe.

It appears that Broadcom had enough confidence to release material on the inner workings (which I understand is rare if not a first).

The website says that they have licenced the manufacturing to the two distributors, so therefore they are unlikely to be interested in a one off 10K release and pissed off customers because they can't buy any more.

The whole aim was to help get programming back into schools, yet I see a lot of complaining by people more interested in their own use for non educational purposes, than supporting the charity like a lot of others do.

Whats done is done, build a bridge and get over it, move on, whatever cliche you want.

It's when the same mistake gets made twice (or more) you should be concerned, as that means there hasn't been any learning.

Personally I can't wait to donate a couple to our local school, but I fear trying to convince the Principle who is one of those i-thing disciples, will be the harder task.
