Just received another email from Farnell Uk.
Delivery date has slipped another 3 weeks, to mid May.
Now on nearly 50 days back-order.
Is everyone else seeing this?

My main bugbear is the lack of information from Farnell and RS. For example, having answers to the following questions would be most helpful:
a) Why do the shipping dates keep slipping?
b) How many RPi units do you have on order?
c) How many companies are manufacturing the units?
d) How many units do you anticipate receiving per month?
e) When do you expect to receive the initial batch of 10,000 ?
f) Why on earth am I having to ask these questions? YOU should be providing this information, we shouldn't need to ask.

Maybe your query is better suited to a more generic forum but as mentioned I'm guessing this first batch was initiated by RPi.org and subsequent orders will be made directly from RS and Farnell who will have more info available to estimate delivery dates.
I'm fairly certain that both of these companies haven't seen demand for an item of this order of magnitude before and would be stupid to pass up an opportunity to be a part of it.
