Just received another email from Farnell Uk.
Delivery date has slipped another 3 weeks, to mid May.
Now on nearly 50 days back-order.

Yes, just got another delivery update. Third one I've received. So far I've been told R-Pi would be delivered on W/C 26th March, 23rd April and now 14th May.
It doesn't inspire confidence. I managed to place my order just after 8am on launch day.
What a shame that with such great launch publicity the R-Pi is beginning to emulate the delivery woes of its BBC Model B ancestor, which we experienced in the early days of home computing. Actually, not so much BBC Model B as Sinclair deliveries, which were months behind promised delivery dates.
The initial enthusiasm I had for the R-Pi is beginning to wane...
Yes me too, glad im not the only one.
Delivery Date has slipped from 26/03 to 23/04 to 14/05, ordered just after 8.00 as well, the first time the site actaully loaded for me.
Anyone from Farnell able to shed some light on the problems with the delivery? Mainly its the not knowing whats causing the delay thats worrying. Are we going to get any more of these revised deliveries or is this one going to stick?
Had exactly the same happen with the same dates. I'm trying to remain upbeat but this seems a very long lead time. Are they changing the design as surely someone such as Farnell could get 50000 of these made in a month and shipped to the uk at least or is that being naive?
It's Definetly taken the shine off it.

Has anyone else not had a delivery date, I got the email saying you can pre-order now after registering interest, then placed my order and a day later got an email saying:
"When stock is allocated to your order, we will send you a full order confirmation including prices, availability and expected delivery date."
Errr.... so you just take orders to take peoples money automatically on dispatch and dont tell them when they will get the goods???

Please stop bleating and read the blogs. The first 10k were funded by the Foundation members mortgaging their houses. If they had not gone to major suppliers (Farnell and RS) the next batch would have been funded by the small profits from the first batch, and so on - you would have been waiting years to get one. This way the suppliers can source parts for 100k+ units and go into mass production. This is going to take time to set up. It took the Foundation 2 months from checking the beta boards to getting the first batch manufactured and shipped, so that is in line with the new production supply line. Have some patience and get a life. Other people have done all the hard work for you to reap the benefits.
It's not that surprising, getting the vast quantities required will take time because not everything will be available in those quantities, and it only takes one shortage to stop the whole thing.
AFIK Farnell haven't taken our money, they say they don't do that until the order is ready to ship.
I Ordered just after 8am on launch day, and when my order got pushed back I spoke to someone at Farnell and was told that they were only recieving 800 units. Not 10'000 or even half that.
