Delivery date updates - slipping.

zardoz99
zardoz99 over 14 years ago

Just received another email from Farnell Uk.

Delivery date has slipped another 3 weeks, to mid May.

Now on nearly 50 days back-order.

Is everyone else seeing this?

The converse is that RS is getting it in the neck because they won't take people's money. It is a no win situation. I think AnthonyUk is probably underestimating the problem. There have been tales of over a million enquiries! With just 10,000 units available worldwide, no-one is going to have their order satisfied for quite a while. This has taken everyone by surprise and no system could have coped with the unprecidented demand. The RPF is a small charity and the trustees put up their own money to get the Pi off the ground. We are just going to have to be patient about the whole thing. Certainly, getting in a strop will not help the situation.

I dont mind that at all Bob, if it takes months due to demand so be it, I would just like the facts when I place an order, not too much to ask I wouldnt think.

    Cheers

    Ash
