Farnell at the factory?

There have been reports that Farnell may have one or more representatives

at the factory.  Is this true?

 

If so, is Farnell participating in testing the units, or just observing?

 

Does Farnell have any first-hand reports of what is going on in the factory?

How many units have completed their rework?

How many units are built, but with rework yet to be completed?

How many units per day are being reworked?

How long does it take to rework one unit?

Is the rework process totally manual?

How many rework stations are operating in parallel?

How many units will be completed before any are shipped?

How many of the correct ethernet jacks does the factory currently have?

 

Have any of the reworked units successfully booted?

How are the reworked units being testing at the factory?

Is ethernet connectivity being tested at the factory?

 

Are the connectors normally soldered on by hand, or

is that normally automated?

 

Are the connectors normally soldered on before or

after the pick-n-place machines populate the boards?

 

Are the pcb's manufactured in the same plant, or somewhere else?

    yesterday, I received this (from farnell.com):

     

    Breakthroughs. Exhilarating, but rarely without hiccups.

    A few days ago, the Raspberry Pi Foundation announced a small manufacturing delay. A component in the Pi is being reinstalled. In the grand scheme it's small potatoes - but we know it's frustrating for Farnell element14 fans and customers.

    Farnell element14 will deliver your Pi to you around early June.

     

     

    What does it mean? Any design problems again??? Or just a marketing excuse? I ordered PI on March 3rd....
