what is Farnell's role?

Former Member
Former Member over 13 years ago

It's great that Farnell is going beyond simply being a distributor,

and is a manufacturing partner, operating this nice forum, and

acting quickly to recall the OS when found to be broken.

What other responsibilities does Farnell intend to take on?

Will Farnell be able at some point to provide first-hand reports

of the size, schedule, and progress of various manufacturing batches?

Will Farnell be involved in testing units at the factory?

Will Farnell be involved in testing units in the UK?

Will Farnell be involved in testing the OS?

Will Farnell operate a bug-tracking system?

Will Farnell be responsible for first-level customer support?

Will Farnell ensure that security updates are available for

the OS even though Fedora 14 was end-of-life'd last year?

Will Farnell consider manufacturing different models, such as

with a larger memory chip, or with a more modern ARM cpu,

or at least with 2 chip-select lines so memory can be

doubled with existing memory technology?

Does Farnell consider it acceptable that the memory available

in the current model is substantially less than the Fedora

recommended minimum?

So, you're saying that elderly and/or disabled people don't have the ability to use this sort of device?

Therefore they should be treated as some sort of second class group who should be protected from themselves and not be given the opportunity to use one?

I think this product is not for you..

I suggest that your personal needs and concerns might be better served at http://www.dell.com
