Update on Newark element14 customers 'delivery date of August 2012' questions

Hello element14 Community members,

 

Today we learned that some of our Newark element14 customers who've placed orders for the Raspberry Pi have seen their delivery dates suddenly change on our website's order backlog to August 2012.  This was an error caused by our website. Please be assured that all orders will be shipped in the order they were originally received. No one has lost their place in line as a result of this issue.  All deliveries are currently on hold awaiting the outcome of the compliance testing taking place.  Once this testing is complete we will be better able to communicate accurate delivery dates so your Pi's can finally meet you, their owners!

 

We are sorry for all of the confusion this latest error has caused.  Thank you to those of you who have been posting your questions and comments to help us address and resolve issues quickly as possible.

  • Yeah I ordered mine at the end of March with order number beginning with 352xxx.

     

    Well I feel the person's college reasoning too.

     

    I am a college student, and at the end of June will be moving, and I am not even sure where to, or even if there will be a where to.

     

    So I am looking at if I do not get mine by June 9th, I may not be able to get mine at all.

     

    I know I am not the only person with a problem like this, as I know manyyy college students move around here in the month of June.

     

    The Raspberry Pi mini linyx computer is so popular in my college town you can ask, "Have you heard of the Rasberry Pi?"

     

    The typical response is:

     

    1) "Yes, I am waiting to order mine...”

     

    or 2) "Yes, Mine is on back order..."

     

    Therefore, unless a lot of college or school systems get theirs by June,

     

    ...  There will be a lotttt of address change request, and more headaches then even now to deal with.

     

    ...I sure hope the ramped up process of production can also get them all delivered by then and start evening out the supply / demand balance.
