Hi, I've just taken delivery of my Raspberry Pi. I loaded up Debian, hooked it up to my TV via the HDMI connection but the edge of the screen overlaps the screen size. I cannot see the task bar or menu buttons. How can I fix this?
Thanks

I ran into the same problem. Changed to 4:3 on the picture size using the TV remote. It was like magic . . .

Fergus is on track, but have you already read the very informative wiki?

woo-hoo, it was the overscan settings that i needed, thank you
(OK, so how do I mark this as Answered?)
Kev,
underneath the post that fixed your problem, there is two options: "helpful answer" and "correct answer". The answer(s) that were helpful, click on "Helpful Answer" for the answer that was correct click on "correct answer".
I hope this helps.

Glad it worked out for you Kev. I had an underscan issue on my TV and that's where I found the answer. The wiki is a must read for troubleshooting.
Now go do something interesting with your Pi!
