Still waiting for delivery date?

e14 Contributor
e14 Contributor over 14 years ago

Hi,

I have ordered in early april and the only thing I got so far is an ORP number (ORP019443). So I am still waiting for an expected delivery date? Can anybody provide a contact (email etc.) where I can get more information about the delivery state?

Thanks,

Franz

That's just not good enough. The last delivery update I and apparently a lot of others in the delivery queue received stated "

we can't send your order just yet, but it will be despatched the week commencing 02/07/2012."

I have not received any email since and the 02/07/2012 date is well gone.

The parallel thread Delivery ??  hasn't had a support answer since coincidently 02/7/2012.

If Farnell are unable to keep their promises then they should at least notify their customers and not ignore them.

Farnell have long been my first point of call for electronics but this delivery business is causing me to wonder if I will ever order another thing from this company.

    Hi Len3805,

If you can send us a private message with your order reference we can look into this for you.

    Thanks

    Dear Customer Support,

Hi, Im in Argentina. I have ordered Raspberry Pi on May 10th from Farnell web site, and received an email with order code ORP035697.

Since then I had no news until July/6th, when I noticed the charge of around U$60 at my credit card.

Until did not receive any other information about the order.

I wish to know how can I track my order, and when and how it will be shipped.

    Thanks in advance,

Well, I have a bit of good news.  As of yesterday, my expected ship date was 8/22/12 (ordered on 4/22/12) and just today I received my email receipt for the card to my CC and another email with my tracking number.  At this point the tracking number is not valid due to ups not scanning it into the system yet, but progre3ss has been made.  Almost seems like you have to do a little bitching to get any resaults.

    Hi Customer Support,

It has been nearly 2 days since you told me that "we are looking into your order & as soon as we have an answer for you we will send you a Private Messsage."

Guess what? .. i didn't received any PM until now (how hard can it be to look for an order number?) and interesting enough, as I saw it at another customer above, you are well on track for delivery of the orders placed after 18April.

However, there are others (me included ORP020210 / 3rd April) that we didn't even received an order update and a Pi is just a dream.

    It's not fair.

    Some updates from me.

I mailed Farnell, and got a reply that my card is not accepted. Interesting, through, that an attempt to take money has been made only after my mail (as bank's report shows)...

Then all went good - I told them that I want to use another card, gived it's data and - voila! - my order will be sent today or tomorrow!

    So, thanks for quick resolution.

I had my card expired while waiting Raspi, called them and did give the new card info.

They said that it will be shipped next week, and will take two to three weeks in transit to Finland image

    Long wait still ahead.

Atleast the T-shirt is coming image

Same here, got an email from Farnell, that my card was declined. (but I had to ask them what's wrong with my delivery, they don't really bother to tell you themselves...)

From what I could understand from my bank's debit card support, Farnell is using unsecure "system" for payments and they are using SSL, so the transaction was cancelled due to security reasons.

They have to "unblock" my card for unsecure payments and after that, the transaction was completed. Still waiting on some delivery info tho...

In one area the Pi is unmatched -- a source of funny stories. image image

It would be funny if we had all received our Pi image

However the reality is that Farnell have made a complete and utter mess of it. Looks like they threw the orders into a bucket and gave it a good stir. The order of delivery appears to bear no relationship to the sequential order number. Dates look like elastic bands.

Bought all the bits to use it, my son is travelling up to see us this week-end to have a play (amongst other things of course) because  I was promised delivery sometime last week. Now it is going to be at least two weeks later than promised. Promises that obviously don't mean much around here. Just how difficult is it to match stock to orders?
