Still waiting for delivery date?

e14 Contributor
e14 Contributor over 14 years ago

Hi,

I have ordered in early april and the only thing I got so far is an ORP number (ORP019443). So I am still waiting for an expected delivery date? Can anybody provide a contact (email etc.) where I can get more information about the delivery state?

Thanks,

Franz

    Hey Guys,

I just talked to Farnell here in Germany, they told me my RPI is finally there and I only have to transfer the money. But if I hadn't called them, I don't know how much longer I may have waited. I suggest you call them from time to time, they're friendly and interested in helping you.

BTW: I never got a delivery date...

    Be patient and good luck!

So .... this morning (13 July) , as is my wont, I checked my E14 account to see if they had slipped the R-Pi shipping date yet again. Good news though it's still "backordered" but on track to be shipped July 16.

Having done that I went for a walk and returned half an hour later to find a Purolator note on my door to say that they had tried to deliver it while I was out (7 min before I returned actually).

An hour later, I received an email saying it was shipped on 13 July (since I'm in Canada and E14 is in the US, it seems unlikely that it would have got here by 9:40 am unless they shipped at midnight - but no matter). Checked on line and sure enough it now says "order complete" and shipped on Jul 13.

Strange procedure with everything happening in reverse sequence (told you someone was messing with spacetime) but still, I've got it at last .... or nearly ...... I can't pick it up from Purolator until after 5pm when the truck gets back to the depot with it.

I am received  e-mail with messages “Your Order has been shipped. Your Order number: ORP022408”, but I am not find tracking number.  Dear Farnell's customer support, give me the tracking number, please.

    Thanks in advance.

Roman, some orders ship without tracking number. So you might have to wait for it to arrive....

Roman, I think that Raspberry Pi orders are shipped without tracking number.

    --

It's bad... I will not be home for two weeks, so I would like to know the exact delivery date.

    ---

Well I sent a PM but no reply. So it looks as though some orders have just disappeared into the proverbial black hole.

Contacting Customer Service in the UK is a waste of time (for me anyway) they don't seem to know about the Pi orders. It's obviously handled differently elsewhere.

    Well another day, another week.

I was invited to order on the 3rd of April. I did so. I received a Farnell Reference number ORP022111.

I received an email with the "Good News" that the CE stuff had been passed and that my Pi would be delivered at the end of June.

Then I received the infamous "Update on your Raspberry Pi Delivery" saying that it would be dispatched the week commencing 02/07/2012.

Then the request on the forum for a PM so that they could look into this despite all the information already being available on the forum. Sent PM.

    Then............... Well nothing so far?

I have to be pleased that others with higher order numbers have received their Pi's but also disappointed that Farnell have treated some of us so shabbily.

    Well,

My adventure with Farnell just got serious. Last Friday I received a mail that my credit card was declined and that I should call them witk the new card details.

I call them, solved the problem and ...  they take my money. ORP020210

After that, as usually, no word, no delivery mail, no nothing.

    Sooooo.... I'm waiting. Again.

My card has been used very recently with all manner of online/offline retailers including Farnell but it is interesting that this card declined problem keeps on cropping up. Perhaps something specific to the way Farnell are handling this Pi business.

As others have said, the sooner the Pi gets integrated into the 'normal' retail channel the better. I know it's getting there but what a mess for the rest of us in the meantime left high and dry.
