No HDMI display at Boot

I can not get the display on my 42 in HDMI TV at boot. This is 1080p at 60Hz

The only way I can get the pi to display is connect to another smaller HDMI TV and wait until I see the

GUI

I then pull the cable from the small set and put it into the large TV and the display shows on the set.

This is the config.txt

config_hdmi_boost=4
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
config_hdmi_boost=4

overscan_top=40
overscan_bottom=40
overscan_left=50
overscan_right=50

I'd try to avoid hot-plugging HDMI. The cables are supposed to be hot-pluggable, but they have very small contacts and it would not be nice to zap your TV. The BeagleBoard documentation warns against hot-plugging HDMI.

Along with jbeale's suggestions, I'd also recommend looking at the RasPi Troubleshooting Wiki: http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting. Specifically, you might try renaming "config.txt" so that it's not used. This has cured HDMI problems for some people.

Thanks for the HotPlugging advice. I never knew that.
As to all the troubleshooting links. I have tried them all to no avail.
Even renaming config.txt

Read my posts on: http://www.element14.com/community/thread/18205?tstart=0 This fixed my problem and might fix yours.

All fixed (audio + resolution)
Instuctions for others who may be experiencing the same issue with a TV and the Raspberry Pi:
1. Install a fresh image (optional)
2. start-up the Raspberry Pi and let it set itself up (normal set-up) - only on first boot
3. After you have gone through normal set-up:
     a. Log-in as a normal user (debian image: pi)
     b. Type the command: "sudo nano /boot/config.txt "
     c. Press enter
     d. Type in: "hdmi_drive=2 " [exactly as it is here]
     e. Then press crtl + o
     f. Press Enter
     g. then press crtl + x
4. Restart using the command: " sudo shutdown -r now "

That gets the Raspberry Pi to register the TV as a HDMI device. You now have sound! For different resolution:
5. After you have gone through normal set-up:
     a. Log-in as a normal user (debian image: pi)
     b. Type the command: "sudo nano /boot/config.txt "
     c. Press enter
     d. Type in: "hdmi_group=1 " [exactly as it is here]
          Press Enter
          Type : "hdmi_mode=x " where x = corresponding number of resolution mode. See: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=5851
     e. Then press crtl + o
     f. Press Enter
     g. then press crtl + x
6. Restart using the command: " sudo shutdown -r now "

Now you have desired resolution and Sound!!!

Try it agian with a fresh image off the raspberrypi website. Sometimes the image maybe the issue.

I should have stated earlier that I get a display using composite but does that allow audio ?
