Raspberry Pi/XMBC featured in Amateurlogic

Hi all

I thought you might be interested to know about Episode 41 of Amateurlogic which has just been released and which features a segment by me in which I take the Pi and install XMBC on it, as well as overclock the Pi to 900Mhz [evil smile].

Amateurlogic is a vidcast/podcast made by 4 radio hams (3 in the US and 1 in Australia) and features segments from Australia and the US on a variety of technological subjects.

You can watch it at Youtube (search on Amateurlogic), download the episodes from our website at http://www.amateurlogic.com or add our private Roku channel using the code ALOGIC.

We also have a Facebook page with 800+ subscribers.

cheers

    Thanks for the feedback.

I don't want to clog up the Pi forums but will add a few comments.

    1. Feedback is welcome and will be taken on board. You can sign up to our Facebook page which has over 800 members now and soem great technical discussion goes on there.

    2. It was actually George that used the term Man Cave but Nate is correct. Both here (Australia) and in the US Man Cave means a garage or room where guys go in their free time to go tinker with technology i.e. their own space. It can be a ham shack, a garage, a workshop etc.Their is no negative connotation re women.

    3. Keep an eye out for future episodes. The other guys have pis as well and we will very likely do more segments. I for example have just downloaded the Android app so that my tablet can control RASPBMC. I also want to get QSSTV running n the Pi.

    cheers Peter

    Nate

Unless the others at Amateurlogic object the Android XMBC remote App will be in my next segment.

Our episodes come out monthly (generally by the 15th).

Morgaine. we don't want you or anyone else to feel excluded. Its just different cultures express things differently. I can state that all the Amateurlogic crew are huge admirers of Jeri Ellsworth (female engineer) who you may have heard of. Further we encourage all people, women and children to try and get their ham ticket as it gives them extra tools to experiment with and hams are a nice bunch of people.

    cheers Peter
