Raspberry Pi just assembled

I have just assembled the Pi and on connection only the red indicator is lighting up. The green has not flashed. The card I purchased had the OS already burnt on which came from the UK..Have taken it OUT  and started again several times but still not working.Be grateful for any suggestions especially as this is the first one in our area in Qld. Aust

  • The green LED flash could be faint.  What type of power supply are you using, and what is its  nominal voltage/current specifications?

     

    Is your Pi one of the latest batch or an earlier one and it is just the card you've recently received?

     

    If you have it attached to a monitor does the screen show any activity at all?

     

    Are you attached to a wired LAN or trying WiFi?

     

    If you have an SD cardreader, do you see in Winda FAT32 partition and then one that Windows ignores or if in Linux a number of partitions?

     

    I live in SE Qld, so might be able to personally help you if you need it. My Pi works OK and I've 4 different SD cards that are Pi working at the moment.

    Thanks for the comment Colin.Everything came from the U.K. No green light at all. Received the Pi 3 weeks ago(ordered in June). The power supply  is 2000ma output 5v.. The card Samsung 8gb with the OS already written to it. Received both today. The screen ( new 15.6" TV with HDMI) shows 'No Signal'. All connections checked many times!!!!! I do not have a card reader.. Would really appreciate assistance on this one.We live at Little Mountain..Caloundra...email being johnjuliaw@gmail.com Cheers John
