RPi rev 2.0 explained

Former Member
Former Member over 13 years ago

Eben has a front-page story up explaining rev 2.0.

It does fix the 1.8V problem, although no credit where

credit is due to Jamodio or any of the others here for

finding, characterizing, and reporting the problem.

No mention that I can see of FCC/CE residential

certification.  I assume the needed minor pcb changes

were made, but perhaps certification has not been

done yet.

p.s.

hopefully element14 will explain to their customers

how to be sure to get rev 2.0 when ordering.

That's a great post by Eben!  Clear, concise, informative, and without adding pointless social embellishments nor ego polishing.  If I were over there I'd be giving him strong positive feedback.  Hopefully someone will encourage him to make posts of that nature just before the expected day of a new version being released, to keep things on the level.

And as if that wasn't good enough, I was very pleased to see this exchange:

Ah yes, my bad. Looking at the board carefully, I can see they're actually isolated.

This is why I like Eben a lot.  He behaves like an engineer, accepts errors, moves on to the next thing.  Pity that his level-headed influence doesn't spread much.  The Foundation would be such a good place if everyone followed that role model.
