Can anybody help me get piface module imported into Python.
Having followed the instructions in the element 14 guide.
I have edited raspt-blacklist.conf and added the # infront of the blacklist spi-bcm2708
Install of software seemed to go OK and the piface graphical emulator works fine.
The problem is that when we open IDLE3 or IDLE and
import piface.pfio
we get an error saying ImportError: No module named piface.pfio
Can anyone help me?

After spending several days (
- Documents that come with the PiFace say "get started with the PiFace ... in less than 10 minutes", ... ah!) I found a number of problems.
I'm running Raspbrian Linux version 3.10.25+, the Linux version number can be found by typing "uname -r" at the command line. The instructions that are delivered with the PiFace seem to be for a version that is much earlier and are useless. You get the error saying "ImportError: No module named piface.pfio". Andrew Robinson's suggestion of using http://piface.github.io/pifacedigitalio/installation.html... almost gets you there but is missing one step.
I found that you need to enable the SPIT interface on http://www.piface.org.uk/guides/Install_PiFace_Software/Enabling_SPI/
You do this by:
PiFace products need the SPI pins on the Raspberry Pi to be enabled in order to function, this is simple enough to do. To enable the SPI, you must update to the latest version of the raspi-config tool, so open a Terminal and use the command
sudo apt-get install raspi-config
and enter Y when required.
Now start raspi-config by typing
sudo raspi-config
To view the list of advanced configuration options, select Option 8 Advanced Options.
Choose the A5 SPI option. Set this to "Yes"
Select "Ok" then "Finish"
Happliness is watching that LED flash for the first time...good luck.
