HDMI does not work after upgrade.

rbladd
rbladd over 12 years ago

I have two Raspberry pi and recently purchased a Pi Face Digital.  The software for the Pi Face did not seem to be loaded, so I updated and upgraded the Raspin.

After I upgraded and rebooted the HDMI does not work and composit video works but is wierd.  I gave typed HDMI_safe=1 with no change.  I am using the HDMI input on an ETC TV that worked okay.

Any suggestions?

Got it to work by editting the config.txt file.

At the Raspberry prompt I entered sudo nano /boot/config.txt

In the file I first uncommented hdmi_safe=1 which sometimes worked

Then I uncommented hdmi_force_hotplug=1 and that seems to consistantly work

because somehow the upgrade gave me composit video in a large font.

After any change use cntlo, then enter to save to config.txt and cntlx to

    exit.

At the prompt enter sudo reboot the restart with the new changes.

    good luck

Otherwise, if this is solved.  Mark as so please.
