Pi Camera proggraming in python

I was wondering if there was a code that allows you to take a picture on the picamera in python any length of script is acceptable however notations would be helpful as I still struggle understanding some scripts Thanks any help would be much appreciated.

The RPi camera module as yet has no v4l driver, which means it doesn't really integrate well into anything.

Instead what you get are three command line programs, raspistill, raspiyuv, raspivid. To take a picture you need to run raspistill with appropriate options.

So a simple bit of python might be:

import os;
os.system("raspistill -o picture.jpg");

and unless you have something more to do than that it's difficult to know why you'd bother using python (or any other language for that matter).
