Macbook Display to RCA.

Hello E14 Community.

I hope this is the right place for this question.
I'm planning on getting a Raspberry Pi In the next couple of months. I have a old Macbook that no longer works and I was wanting to use the display (samsung ltn133w1-l01) for the Pi.

Any one know how or if its is posable to convert this display to RCA. I've looked for tutorials on line, but havent' been able to find any. I've seen a couple Ben Heck episods where he dose this with differint displays, so I get the basic Idea. I'm pretty new to all this so it may be a bit advancet for me yet, but I figure this is a good place to jump in and start learning.

anyway, if anyone knows of a good tutorial or a good place to start for this project, it would be supper helpful and much appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

    Kabrun,

It may be possible, using something like this:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/LCD-Controller-Board-DIY-Kit-RTD2270L-Driver-LVDS-Inverter-Turn-LCD-to-Monitor-/110925504614

although I think you still might need yet another adapter to connect to the RPi's RCA.

I wouldn't recommend it though, since the resolution of the RPi's RCA output is not very good

compared to the HDMI output.  It may be OK for watching standard definition video, but probably

not OK for computing tasks like programming or web browsing.  You would probably be a lot happier

with a new or used HDMI or DVI monitor.

There are different versions of that board from coder27's link, perhaps one like this

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/B-NTA92C-VGA-DVI-LCD-Controller-Board-Kit-LVDS-Reuse-laptop-similar-to-R-RM5251-/370825885452

as it has a DVI connector you can then connect it to the Pi's HDMI and get a much better result

You do need to be slightly careful when you buy one of these that it's compatible with the LCD panel you have, there's usually a big list of compatible panels in the listing and you'll want to check that against the part number of your panel
