    Hello everyone!

    Just a short question:

Is it now possible to connect a 3.5 microphone to the Raspberry Pi Model B+ or do I still need a Wolfcard or a USB to mic connector?

    Thx.

The hardware is essentially the same between the B &b+ so no you can not, you will need an external sound card of some type.Check for fitting before hand or have a riser like Mark used

Re the sound card, if you don't have a preference already how about a simple USB sound card with Mic input?

The Wolfson card is very hi quality so it may be good if you really need something good...All depends on you.

Remember you will need to lift the card up  on the B+

Another option is to use a usb web cam for mic in... Just don't use the cam part.

As the Wolfson card is to expensive for just a mic in and I also don't want to loose the IO Pins, I think I will need to buy such a USB sound cars with mic in. Can you recomment any good ones? And is it possible to create a Video with the Audio included then?

Thx, but as I still have the cam, a webcam with mic only for using the mic is not the best solution in my opinion. But of course still a option.

The cheap usb sound cards are quite plausible. The audio is OK unless you have a very specific high quality solutionin mind then in that instance you will be telling me which card you would like to use image
