I've just seen a kickstarter campaign that may be of interest to some Raspberry Pi users. All of my current breakouts are for the original 26-way header, so I've decided to give this one a try.
The Pidapter converts the GPIO pin header on the Raspberry Pi version B+ to sockets and provides port pin descriptions.
Unfortunately their campaign deliverable isn't until Jan/Feb next year, so you won't be able to get one for christmas.
