Gideros almost there for the Pi...

Former Member

Hi all,

I found this forum after being banned from the pi forum for apparently writing aggressive and insulting emails (!!)..

(More on that here: https://www.facebook.com/anthony.ball.66/posts/10205497102768130 )

Anyhow, I don't know if any of you are aware but there is a kickstarter to bring a devkit called Gideros to the Raspberry Pi (among others).  The Pi is actually a stretch goal (the original goal has been met) and there is only 21 hours and £350 to go!

Here is some information about Gideros and the Kickstarter:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/207069325/port-gideros-studio-to-windows-phone-8-and-desktop

I'm not actually involved in the kickstarter, but I (among others) have pledged to release full free Pi versions of games we have written if the stretch goal is reached.

See: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=94842

It would be great any of you could help support this kickstarter to get Gideros onto the Pi

Thanks for reading.

Aww... are they still doing that?  That is so 2012 image

Personally, I think the Hardkernel ODROID-C1 is going to give RasPi some serious competition.  1.5GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A5, 1 GB DRAM, Gigibit Ethernet, and mostly-compatible 40-pin GPIO connector -- all for the same US$35.  mconners has a great 'blog about the C1 here: http://www.element14.com/community/community/designcenter/single-board-computers/blog/2014/12/23/odroid--oh-boy

Hi John -- I'm planning to get a C1 to celebrate my next XXICC release.  I'm going to try using it as my main work-horse computer, with a hard drive attached to USB 2.0.  However, I'd really like to use my 1440 x 900 monitor, which is not currently supported.  However, it may be supported next week along with 1366 x 768 so I can also use an Atrix Lapdock image
