Another Raspberry Pi PSOne Project

paulhopgood
paulhopgood over 11 years ago

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new to this community and haven't been able to quite find the answers I'm looking for through searching so thought I'd create a post.

I'm going to start work on a project involving putting a Raspberry Pi 2 inside a PSOne shell with the PSOne portable screen attached to it.

The PSOne has a 7.5v power supply which can power the screen at the same time. I'd like to continue using this but have it power the Raspberry Pi. I think I need to add a Step-down Buck Converter - 5v between the power supply and the Pi (after the screen in the circuit though). Can someone confirm I'm not doing something completely wrong.

If people are interested I'll post more about the project as it progresses. I'm sure I'll have more questions to ask too.

Thanks

Here's one I'm working on not a PsOne but a psx  http://s4.postimg.org/leb206dzx/image.jpg Currently has around 6000 Roms on a 1tb hdd, 4 usb ports, wifi, Bluetooth. And still plenty of hdd space for more.

    Sorry to jump your post.

What's it got inside, edr1ck? Is that Raspberry Pi 2 powered as well? That's a hell of a spec, and a stunning retro machine! I'm really into gutting old consoles and kitting them out with new innards image

Whatever it's got in the casing, I'd love to see inside this and to hear about your build -- post it in a blog here on the community. You'll get some great feedback, guaranteed! (and probably some element14 swag from me, too image).
