RP2 audio/video jack Debian

Hello community of Element 14,

First of all, I'm totally new to Element14, never worked with forums or something so please be gentle.

Also I'm pretty new to Raspberry so that's where I call your help in.

Due to a lack of money I want to run my Raspberry Pi 2 on an old television through audio/video jack.

This worked with a couple of other OSes but not with Debian (it does work with HDMI).

Is this something that should be changed in the settings or is it even possible?

For everyone, just as new as I, here an explanation how i manged to solve it.

When you boot your Raspberry Pi press shift to get into the recovery mode. If your screen stays black, press 1, 2, 3 and 4 separately (this will change it for now to the AV plug, so you can see what to work with).
Press e to get into the config file. (https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/config-txt.md)
What I needed to change was stdv_mode, i only needed to remove the # in front of it and at the bottom I changed the NOOBS autogenerate settings, further more I changed the force_hdmi to 0.
This worked for me and hopefully is someone ever finds this post can solve it with this guide.

Is the solution i wrote on the Rasp forum.
Edit: I knew my problem couldn't be in the cable because it worked with other OSes, to make sure your cable works you can check http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2014/07/raspberry-pi-model-b-3-5mm-audiovideo-jack/.
