what use are you putting the microscope to Andy ?
Likely to be used around the workshop or inspection so want something fairly robust that does not need a laptop to run it.
The camera I showed you comes on a stage, a bed for the board been inspected and the right optics for the job where you get good magnification and can run the camera several inches from the work so you can solder or probe underneath it!
My suggestion is one of these and use a simple HDMI monitor with no computer required or you can go to a USB based solution as already mentioned, same cam does the lot !
The whole thing runs from under £180 to £320 depending on the config ... Don't think you need that much in reality mine was £ 214 for the staging and a 14MP 1080p video camera!
Where did you get the bits from ?

EBAY there's a load of varieties, both myself and James got ours from a seller called Lapsun, we had t o do a software upgrade to get rid of a bug but the cam was good
