Change capacitice touch screen sensitivity [Official display for Raspberry Pi]

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to change or modify the sensitivity of the capacitive touch screen for my Raspberry Pi.

My display is the Official 7" Raspberry touch display, and my OS is the latest Raspbian Jessie.

I need more sensitivity because in my application I have an additional glass lens above the display, so that the actual built-in drivers does not work well.

I guess one have to do little changes to the driver for the capacitive touch, but how and where? Does anybody has any idea?

Sorry no. But you can use a skin oil to improve the capacitance. I have a friend with dry cracked skin that does this. Warning the screen will get messy over time. But small price to get the screen to work if you need.

Thanks! With your "Sorry no" you mean it is not possible at all or you don't know if it is possible or not?
I think the oil solution wouldn't be suitable for my case

I want to place the display inside a proper stainless steel vertical control panel. I would like to place a 3mm thick glass over it for increase protection from damages (the panel will be used by various people and the original 1 mm thick glass lens is too thin in my opinion).
After a few attempts I saw that with the additional glass the touch screen doesn't work at all (the distance between the hand and the display is too much). This is the reason for which I wonder if there would be some chances to increase ore calibrate the touch response.

Oh. The glass thickness can prevent finger capacitance. The field is electrically controlled and not a software parameter as explained in linked article. You may want to explore other types of touch screens. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitive_sensing explains types and suggest ares to explore. Bottom line is more glass is not a viable alternative for you.
