Check out MikroE, they have a Pi plug-on board (or 'shield') and various daughter boards that plug on top, including a GSM one. But it is not technically a 'HAT'.

    I don't think anyone has made a 3G/4G HAT.

A cheaper/easier approach would be to plug in a 3G/4G USB dongle.

    Hi,

We make a product which solves your problem. We are based in the UK but have many US customers, With express shipping you canexpect delivery withing 5-7 working days.

With the PiAnywhere HAT module for the Raspberry Pi you can take your little computer anywhere. This powerful HAT gives you 4G, 3G or GSM mobile data, GPS, Bluetooth and a rechargeable power source for your Raspberry Pi.

Tony, just to say, I checked these boards and I made a couple of sums... IMHO the pricing is really high - despite that the product seems well done. There are 15-20$ cheaper solutions that I think are more useful for makers (just not plug-and-play) but can also be more intriguing and not so difficult to implement.

At this purpose may fit your needs and are easy to connect to the PI (I have done it with a PSoC microcontroller) via serial the Quectel L70 or L80 modules or the SIM800 based GPS units.

    Enrico

    Hi,

It might be worth having a look at the Linkwave PiloT - it is a 3G Raspberry Pi HAT with optional GPS. 2G and 4G variants will be available very soon: The PiloT - Add a 3G mobile data connection to the Raspberry Pi

    Hi Tonny,

We sell individual units of our 'PiAnywhere 4G' for 160.00 GBP including

express shipping to the US. I have worked this out to be 201.00 USD however

rates will vary as you know.

We are also pleased to say we have a great service attached to our product.

You will get full product support via email, Including details on how to

use and set up your PiAnywhere. Our Instructables page and command set

application notes are also great shortcuts for getting ahead with your

    project.

You can purchase via our webstore, or via direct email request.

    I hope this helps.
