It sees the network, but when I try to connect it doesn't ask me for a password.

Thanks Clem Martin. I'v done everything he mentioned but im getting stuck in one spot. When I connect to wifI it never gave me an option to type in a password
What is the wifi? Is it built in to pi3? or is it a usb dongle?
In the Network tab, set the Network Technology as WLAN, Network Interface as wlan0 and WLAN SSID as your network’s name.Scroll down a bit and set WLAN security and WLAN Passphrase according to your home network’s settings.Click OK and reboot the system.

Make sure the date of the OS was built for the Pi 3 after Feb 29, 2016 using system command. Before that then you could have this trouble.
In raspbian my wifi works fine. I searched for the network tab in Kodi thatuof but I didn't see any of the settings you spoke of.
Just reinstalled Kodi and everything works fine now. Thanks for your patience and your help.
