Compute Module stuck in kernel panic.

Question

I have read and re-read the documentation provided by the vendors and programmers of the RPi compute module. However, I haven't seen any clear and precise instruction on how to extricate a compute module stuck in 'kernel panic'

So, my question is this, what is the most accurate way to restore/reset an raspberry pi's compute module, that is stuck in an endless loop. If there isn't one, do I dump and move on, because it can't be recovered.

I haven't used the rPi compute module, but I suspect there's one of two things happening; either the hardware is bad or the boot image is corrupt.

Since fixing the boot image is easier, before giving up on the hardware I'd try re-flashing it.
