Needing help

Question

I am very new to this, and am not real techy. I bout a Raspberry PI1 Modle B+ 512mb. I have followed the instructions, and believe that i have the micro SD chi programmed right. I have lugged it in and tried to get it to work and it will not power up. the led lights are on, and everything id plugged in. I have the TV the right channel, and have switched 3 different HDMI cables. The TV still says no input. Can anyone help me out......

Take a closer look at the LEDs as they can tell you a bit more what is going on. If the R-Pi doesn't detect the display over HDMI it may be outputting the video on the composite RCA output instead - does your TV have a composite input to try ? What do you have as a power source? It's been quite a spell since I tinkered with my RP but I remember you have to make sure there is enough current. If you think all is OK take it back to the vendor, as one of my 3 RP's was faulty right out of the pack plugged in place of another. Another thought, buy the loaded SD Card to get going faster.
