PiFace not working

Question

Hello,

I've just bought a PiFace Relay+ to extend my Raspberry Pi 3 B+, followed the starter guide, but le python blink test doesn't work. All I have is an error message saying that the card is not present. All switches are in correct position and power is supplied. (I checked the screw terminals).

I've upgraded Raspian as well.

My goal is to command the relays with node.

Any idea?

Are you sure that the necessary overlays have been configured to load (if I recall correctly, SPI is required)? Have you tried executing the program with sudo privileges due to the hardware access requirements? Perhaps you can try using other tools to access the port expander the device - e.g. wiringpi, although I don't know if it supports your version of the PiFace. - Gough
