Raspberry Pi stuck in reboot loop during nightly build update

Former Member

So, I was trying to update my raspberry pi which is using the element 14 4GB SD card preloaded with Radpbmc, and it rebooted, and then just got stuck in a loop.

Any thoughts on how I can fix this? I bought the kit because I just want it to work. I really don't have the time to run around trying to tweak. I have young kids.... image

Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry for the massive delay in responding. First time I have been able to get some free time from the family. I'll give these a try right away.

I gave this a try using this resource: Raspbmc » Windows Installation

It seems to install quickly after a wipe, but plugging it back into my pi boot up, and there's nothing. Bring it back to my computer, and the only way I can recognize it is to reboot the pc. Suspect that the card I got with the media center package is bunk.

I have a bunch of SD cards around, so have to figure out now how to determine the best one I suppose to test.

I had the same issue, what I had to do id format the SD card, download the full standalone image, load the card and boot the Raspberry Pi without the internet connected. Once running, disable updates and connect the internet. There seems to be an error in the new update somewhere. The image file is on their web site.

Good luck!! It worked for me,

Thanks for all the help! I managed to get it running with a different SD card, so I think there is something wrong with the card that came with the media center package from Element14. It does freeze now when trying to reboot, and some of my videos will no longer play anything but audio, but I can troubleshoot that later.
