Hi, so before anyone tells me I should just look online, I will let you know I have, and none of the instructions have helped.
So. I ordered my first (of many) Raspberry Pi's from a group on amazon {Amazon.com : CanaKit Raspberry Pi Complete Starter Kit (Raspberry Pi + 8 GB Original Preloaded SD Card + Black Case + Po…; and it was the ultimate starter kit} and it came with a wireless dongle, the Ralink RT5370 {Amazon.com: 150 Mbps Ralink RT5370 Chipset MINI USB 2.0 WIFI Adapter NEW Network Adapter: Computers & Accessories}.
***Btw, the Raspberry Pi board just happen to be ordered from Element14 by Canakit, so thanks E14 for you assistance in getting me started***
Anyways. I have gotten everything to work: used NOOBS to install raspian; hooked it up to the internet and updated/upgraded it; evened checked ssh tunneling and installing a vnc (also making it start on boot). But for some reason, I can not get the wifi dongle to work. I have tried several different guides online (all saying different things) and it still, is not working.
And the firmware-ralink is installed.
